U.S. Senator, JOHNNY’S RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT OBAMA’S VETO OF NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT
Isakson National Defense Authorization Act NDAA obama veto

Regarding President Obama’s veto of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2016 (NDAA):

“I am extremely disappointed that President Obama has chosen to threaten the stability of our national security and put our men in uniform at risk by rejecting the National Defense Authorization Act that was overwhelmingly supported by both Republicans and Democrats in Congress. Now more than ever, we need to make sure our military is funded and authorized at the levels that are necessary to confront the world’s challenges. By vetoing this critical defense measure, the president is sending a message to Vladimir Putin, ISIL, Iran and all others who threaten freedom around the world that America is unwilling to lead. I hope my colleagues in the House and Senate will join me in voting to override this veto and send a clear message to the president that we will not allow this administration to play politics with those who risk their lives for the United States of America.”
