WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson called on the president to retract a proposal that would ban ammunition used in AR-15 rifles and common firearms.
The letter, signed by Sen. Isakson, states, “Second Amendment rights require not only access to firearms but to bullets. If law-abiding gun owners cannot obtain rifle ammunition, or face substantial difficulty in finding ammunition available and at reasonable process because government entities are banning such ammunition, then the Second Amendment is at risk.”
“Time and time again, this administration has attempted to undermine the Second Amendment of the Constitution that President Obama has sworn to uphold,” said Isakson. “Yet here we are again with another unconstitutional regulation that circumvents Congress and directly conflicts with the right to bear arms. I call on the president to retract the ammunition ban and stop infringing on the Second Amendment.”
