Isakson Casts Vote to Preserve Medicare Advantage Program for 11 Million Seniors
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator and Senate candidate Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., Friday voted for an amendment that would have prevented the Democrats' health care plan from cutting $120 billion from the Medicare Advantage program, which serves about 11 million seniors nationwide.

Senate Democrats defeated the amendment by Senator Orin Hatch, R-Utah, by a vote of 41-57.
“Our seniors rely on the Medicare Advantage program for coverage of essentials such as dental care, eye glasses, hearing aids and flu shots. The Democrats want to slash this vital program for seniors by $120 billion and use that money instead to help fund their terribly flawed, outrageously expensive, government-run health care system. I cannot in good conscience allow that to happen and I will continue to vote to protect our seniors,” Isakson said.
